Football & Futsal Development Officer
Position: Football & Futsal Development Officer
Location: Whangārei and Wider Northland Region
Type: Full-time (30 hours per week)
Salary: $35,000 - $45,000 P/A (commensurate with qualifications & experience)
Start Date: January 2025
Reports To: Women's Development Manager

Role Overview:
Northland FC is seeking a dedicated and passionate Football & Futsal Development Officer who will play a pivotal role in the development of our girls' football programme and lead our Futsal initiatives. This position is ideal for an individual with a commitment to fostering growth in both areas, providing excellent coaching and creating opportunities for young athletes to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and expand the club's Futsal programing, including organising training sessions, facility hire and local Futsal competitions

Coach and mentor the club's 15th grade girls team, focusing on the clubs programme goals of “in the team by 16, making their mark by 18” and creating “pathways to excellence” in the region

Enhance and strengthen the girls' football programme and futsal programme through outreach, engagement, and development-focused activities.

Collaborate with other coaching staff to align training strategies and ensure cohesive development across the club.

Build strong relationships with schools, local communities, and stakeholders to promote and grow futsal participation in the region

Develop and execute initiatives aimed at increasing female and futsal visibility and engagement in the region.
Key Requirements:
-
Proven coaching experience, particularly in futsal and girls' development.

Minimum of a NZF C Licence (or working towards) and/or NZF Futsal C Licence (or working towards), or equivalent overseas qualifications.

Strong communication skills and the ability to inspire and motivate players of all skill levels
-
An understanding of the importance of inclusive and supportive environments for girls' participation and growth in sports.

Experience in running small teams of coaches and community based programmes

Must have own transport and a valid NZ Driver's License

Must complete police vetting.

Must hold, or complete, a recognised First Aid Qualification

Senior Womens Head Coach
Position: Senior Women’s First Team Coach
Location: Whangārei and Wider Northland Region
Type: Part-time Contract
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Season Duration: February – October 2025
Reports To: Women's Development Manager
Role Overview:
Northland FC is seeking a passionate and skilled Senior Women’s First Team Coach to lead our women’s team in the NRF Women’s Conference for the 2025 season. This role is instrumental in driving success on and off the field while fostering a culture of excellence, inclusion, and growth in women’s football within the club and region.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and oversee all training sessions for the Senior Women’s team.

Lead the team through the NRF Women’s Conference season, including match-day coaching and tactical preparations.

Develop and implement player development plans to enhance individual and team performance.

Work collaboratively with the Women's Development Manager to achieve the programme goals of “in the team by 16, making their mark by 18” and creating “pathways to excellence” in the region
-
Actively contribute to the broader development of women’s football in the region, including mentoring younger players and coaches.

Provide regular feedback and performance analysis to players to support their growth.

Build and maintain positive relationships with players, staff, and stakeholders to foster a supportive and professional team environment.
Key Requirements:

Minimum of a NZF C Licence (or working towards) or equivalent overseas qualification

Proven experience in coaching, ideally in women’s football at a competitive level.

Strong tactical and technical understanding of the game.

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
